Description

Revolutionary War officer General William Lenoir settled in North Carolina's Yadkin River Valley and built a plantation he called Fort Defiance in 1792. The nearby town of Lenoir was named in his honor. Today, the mansion has been fully restored and serves as a historical site and tourist attraction. Photo taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 in Caldwell County, NC, USA.
