Fort Independence

Fort Independence is the name of several forts in the United States:

  • Fort Independence (Colorado) — A frontier trading post located near present day Pueblo, Colorado.
  • Fort Independence (Massachusetts) — A fort located in the mouth of Boston harbor, located on Castle Island
  • Fort Independence (Missouri) — In Independence, Missouri the starting point of the Oregon Trail.
  • Fort Independence (Vermont) — A small fortification in Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain, opposite Fort Ticonderoga.
  • Fort Independence (Nebraska) — A military instillation in Nebraska in the 1900s.
