Fordham is a village in Cambridgeshire, England. Fordham is part of the East Cambridgeshire district.

The village gave its name to a Ham class minesweeper HMS Fordham.

Fordham is a village located near the city of Ely in East Cambridgeshire, and is near the Cambridgeshire / Suffolk border. It is also near the town of Newmarket, home of flat horse racing since the time of James I in the 17th Century, as well as being close to the settlements of Soham, Burwell, Isleham, Mildenhall and Chippenham. The British Equine Veterinary Association have an office in the village, and HFL (formerly Horseracing Forensic Laboratory) has a site on the edge of the village.

Fordham Abbey was described as "A Gilbertine priory, a cell to Sempringham abbey, was founded here, in the time of Henry III., by Robert de Fordham; and given, at the dissolution, to W. Paris." [1]

The village has a Church of England Controlled Primary School [2] which feeds into Soham Village College.

The parish church, St Peter's, is a grade 1 listed building, "noted for its very fine late C13 and early C14 first floor chapel and undercroft" [3]

Fordham Woods nature reserve is located south of the village. Villager Tracey Barnard was a contestant on Channel 4's Big Brother 2007 (UK). Coordinates: 52°19′N 0°23′E / 52.317, 0.383

Fordham Community Archivehas been set up to record the history of Fordham in the form of photographs, documents and written and oral memories. The group was formed in August 2007 and is holding community events.
