Ford and the American Dream - Founded on Right Decisions, is a business novel written by Clifton Lambreth and co-authors Patrick Doyle, Mary Calia and Melissa Webb. The book was published in June of 2006 by Executive Books. The book reviews decisions made by Ford management during the past 20 years, as described by Lambreth and Doyle, both 20-year-plus veterans of the company.
An article about the book was published in the Detroit News in the Saturday, July 21 edition. The article, written by Ankur Dholakia, is titled "Relishing my Dinner with Alan" and tells the story of Lambreth's meeting with Ford CEO Alan Mulally. The pair met for lunch at Fair Lane, the former residence of Henry Ford. Lambreth reported that "Mulally thanked [him] for having the courage to write the book" and was "keenly receptive to openly discussing issues facing the company."
