[edit] Copyright
I changed the tag on that image to {{PD-US}} which states it better. PD under US law, possibly others, but not all. —Morven 16:54, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Mauroy
I've added the place that I took Image:Mauroy.jpg from. The site allows its photographs to be freely reproduced.
[edit] Untagged images
Hello, could you add licence tag on pictures you uploaded to commons ? there are listed amond Commons:Commons:Untagged images. Cheers —FoeNyx 15:39, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry for the tardy reply, apparently I overlooked your request. I believe that ALL images I have uploaded to the commons are public domain, and I thought I had tagged them. I'm unable to quickly find any untagged images. If you could point them out, or tell me how to generate a list of my images that are missing tags, or something helpful like that, I will certainly make it my top priority. (Otherwise it may take me quite a while, I typically only get to use wikipedia in short sessions of 15 minutes or so these days.) Thanks!!! Pedant 01:46, 2005 Jun 26 (UTC)
- OK, I'm done now, thanks very much for your help (listing the images was really helpful). I wasn't aware of the NASA public domain template until you pointed it out. Let me know if there's anything more I can do.Pedant 2005 June 28 07:12 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Lille, Belfry.JPG
Hello, I read your comment on Commons, but didn't understood explanation very well. If what you are saying is true. All images of building that are designed less than n years ago, should be deleted from Commons? Uploading it to the English Wikipedia, placed in the Florida, US on the other hand might be legal?? Donar Reiskoffer 20:11, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- Images of french buildings, under french IP law, are protected « Œuvres de l'esprit » (something like copyrightable works) for the architect or its heirs; it's on the same level of protection than picture of Paintings whom exploitation/reproduction rights belong to the painter or its heirs more or less 70 years after death of the author. (sorry it's probably not very clear). For buildings there is a recent exception if it's within a wider view. Such problematic pictures have already been removed from commons I think. Louvre pyramid pictures are not free for example and even picture of Eiffel tower by night are protected because the lighting display is considerated as a copyrightable work. I dont know if it can be uploaded as gfdl (even in Florida), gfdl should apply in all countries who subscribed to IP international treaties. I know some images of french painting en: had to be relicenced to {{PD-US}} rather than {{PD}} as they were still protected in France. But again IANAL. --FoeNyx 20:32, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] ethnic French
How can you be in favour of the deletion of an article ? Would you not rather a significant clean-up take place ? Epf 19:15, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- because I dont think "Ethnic French" exists. --FoeNyx 19:17, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kanji MOS discussion on FR
FoeNyx, I made a reply at the French kanji discussion here: fr:Wikipédia:Le_Bistro/13_septembre_2007#Mod.C3.A8le:Nom_japonais_invers.C3.A9
I am asking about how we will gauge consensus on which formats to use. WhisperToMe 02:34, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
