The FN Model 30 Browning automatic rifle (Fusil-Mitrailleur Mle 30) was the Belgian-produced variant of the M1918 BAR, chambered for the German 7.92x57mm Mauser round. Also, the rifle grip was replaced by a pistol grip. The Model 30 was exported to China in 7.92mm and to Chile in 7mm. After World War II an improved design, the Type D, with a quick-change barrel was developed in .30-06. It remained in Belgian Army service along with the Model 30 until replaced by the FN MAG.
