The Flying Unicorn is a ride at the Universal Islands of Adventure theme park in Florida.
The ride is located in the Lost Continent island, and is a mild alternative to the areas more extreme rides. In fact, it is something of an irony that this children's rollercoaster is located back-to-back with the considerably more wild twin rollercoasters Dueling Dragons. Both rides will be turned into Harry Potter themed rides in 2009 for the upcoming island, The Wizarding world of Harry Potter.[citation needed]
[edit] Queue
The ride takes place in an enchanted forest from a Fairy Tale. Various signs along the queue tell the story of a wizard who found a baby unicorn's horn, which it shed. He then used the horn to create this ride.
[edit] Ride
Guests ride in carts designed to look like mechanical unicorns, and travel over a track, to the top of the lift, then dropped through various dips and turns before being deposited at the start of the track. Though adults can ride the cars are small and even those not overweight may struggle to fit two adults next to each other.
