[edit] ak 47
First off, welcome to wikipedia. You are more than welcome to make any changes that will help improve the article(s), however, the article you have added the image and text to is a featured article which is one of our top rated articles that has gone through much scrutiny. Be aware that we constantly receive "drive by" uploads of images that are often added for personal gratification ( image will have user in picture or some other personal reference ) instead of improving the article with a valuable illustration. In my opinion, the image you have added adds no value over the other images and the original image text comes off as point of view. I suggest you add the image to the article talk page and request input from other editors on whether or not the image and text should be added. --I already forgot 03:03, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
thanks for the welcome note. I must say in response to your comments, that the reason the image was added was to compliment the paragraph that was displayed next to it. I also can safely say that that is most definately not me in the photo (wrong gender for a start) and wanted to show that the AK47 was almost so commonplace in society (rightly or wrongly) that the civilian has ample access and can be taught to use it with minimal training. I would have liked this to be a contribution being my first edit but fully understand your position. I would like to open this up for any other comments.
- The picture says nothing of the sort. It is simply a picture of a civilian shooting an AK-47. It has no context and does not illustrate anything new. "Commonplace in society" ....which society? --Mmx1 03:19, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your input. Please can you just explain what rv redundant is? Flodjy 03:21, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- rv is shorthand for revert.--LWF 03:23, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
So, away from the actual article, can I just check that I did upload a file correctly? Do I need to upload it to Wikipedia commons?! or did I do that Flodjy 03:27, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- It was properly uploaded. Most images are never uploaded to commons.--LWF 03:33, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help LWF & I already forgot. Glad to see most give warm welcomes! Flodjy 03:35, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

- In regard to images, best thing to do is read the image use policy. Once you have it figured out, you can explain to me in layman's terms how the hell to upload an image correctly.
- In regards to civilians shooting the AK-47...Keep in mind wikipedia has an international user base and some societies completely forbid the use of any type of firearm. Stating they are commonplace to someone in england may be an inaccurate statement. --I already forgot 03:45, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Standard corrado.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Standard corrado.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 23:33, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
