[edit] Civilian standards

'built to civilian standards' means built to a lower standards and cheaper than a normal naval warship ( this is not unique to the French Navy ). In other words they are much more likly to take serious damage and be crippled than a normal warship. I think this should be explained somewhere. 145.253.108.22 10:19, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Conjecture, which should not be 'explained' anywhere unless you have a source other than an angry francophobic blog. 'Built to civilian standards' means that the safety of the crew and day-to-day reliability are put above military performance. This is a coast guard ship labelled a frigate for some reason or another; personally I see more likenesses with the Nordkapp class OPV than anything else. --Joffeloff 11:34, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
