Can you edit an existing picture and then upload it Wikipedia under a different name for a different purpose? Dreamy 20:12, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- I just wanted to make a bit more specific what I'm a little confused about... the original image from which this image is derived was posted to Wikipedia under the deprecated {{{{Military-Insignia}} template. Consensus upon deprecation of that template is that military insignia aren't automatically in the public domain. So, it seems to me that we wouldn't be able to create a derived work from one of the military insignia and then release it under the GFDL unless the military insignia from which we're deriving is in fact public domain. What is the copyright status of the insignia of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets? Sancho 21:00, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
