Fleet of the Damned is the fourth book in Chris Bunch and Allan Cole's The Sten Adventures.
[edit] Plot
Sten goes to flight school and then battle the Tahn in the beginning of the Tahn War.
Being assigned on Cavite to Admiral van Doorman, Sten assumes his command, 4 new tacships (Bulkeley Class) and with Kilgour having somehow "assigned" himself (We'll never quite find out exactly how he managed that...) they have a rather interesting time evading van Doorman (who is revealed as more of a social admiral rather than military) while discovering innovative ways, thanks to a spindar, (a sentient spider) and crews consisting of ex-cops and ex-convicts. Due to events from the previous book, the Empire ends up in a war with the Tahn, a warrior based society.
In the end Sten and Alex live, but are captured by the Tahn.
