Template talk:Flags.net

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here's an extract from Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#General non-free licenses:

Do not upload images for which one of the tags in this section applies.
{{noncommercial}} - where there is general non-commercial permission.

But this very template includes the words "It is used with permission of the copyright owner. However, that permission does not include commercial usage." That seems to me to be pretty much the same as the {{noncommercial}} tag quoted above. I'd imagine the use of flags could be justified in other ways without much difficulty, but isn't relying (even in part) on a permission which does not allow commercial use incompatible with Wikipedia? None of the non-commercial-only Creative Commons licenses are allowed, for example. Loganberry (Talk) 22:24, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

I added the tag to it, so the images will be deleted soon. Zach (Sound Off) 00:33, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
