The flatback turtle has a depressed shell with turned up sides. It used to be known as Chelonia depressa, but it is now called Natator depressus.It is found only in the tropical waters of northern Aust.

The name flatback is used for Geochelone platynota. 86.76.216.74 14:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Geochelone platynota is for the flatback tortoise, Natator depressus is for the flatback turtle. DavidB601 (talk) 19:09, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
