Flannel vest

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Introduction

A flannel vest is a garment, usually worn instead of an overcoat.

A flannel vest is a vest made of flannel. Usually worn by lesbians, grunge musicians, tree cutters, Mick Foley and builders.

[edit] Context and Controversy

Historically, flannel vests were regarded as a status symbol in some regions of United States, Canada, and the Soviet Union.

This trend was re-ignited in the 1920s, when the flannel vest phenomenon was re-ignited in South Carolina.

Ellen DeGeneres caused controversy in Arkansas in the late 1980's when she suggested the Flannel vest be banned.
