  • name – is the name of the project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix
  • width – sets the width of the infobox. When not specified, the default is 25em.
  • Image-related:
    • image – An image for the project. Given in the form of "example.jpg" (i.e., do not specify the size, caption, position, et cetera, and don't prefix it with 'Image:').
    • imagesize – sets the width of the project image. When not specified, the default is 300px.
    • caption – a descriptive sentence that describes the image. Something like "This WikiProject is about project topic."
  • shortcuts – If your project has any Shortcuts, list them here in the form [[WP:Shortcut]]. Multiple shortcuts may be given as a comma separated or bulleted list.
  • category – The name of the root category of the articles in the scope of the WikiProject. Do not write the word "Category."
    • category2 – Write the name of a second root category if the project uses one.
  • portal – The name of an appropriate Portal for this project. Don't prefix 'Portal:' on the name.
  • portal_img – An icon to use in place of the puzzle piece icon next to the portal link. Given in the form of "example.jpg" (don't specify any size, caption, et cetera and don't prefix 'Image:' on it).
  • commons – The name of a category in the Wikimedia Commons that's appropriate to your topic.
  • parent The name of the parent project for this project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix.
  • notice The name of the project notice template you use for this project. Given without the 'Template:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
  • A userbox used by the project may be specified either of two ways:
    • userbox If the userbox is in template space (i.e., {{Template:userbox name}}), give just the template name without the 'Template:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
    • userbox2 If the userbox is in user space (i.e., {{User:Example/Userboxes/ProjectBox}}), give just the user's name and the complete path to the userbox without the 'User:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
  • inactive – If set to "yes", includes the Inactive WikiProject bar on the page
  • helps-organise-children – If set to "yes", indicates that the project will be active in helping organise subprojects (including task forces and work groups; don't put this down unless the project is going to set those up when useful)
  • has-goals – If set to "no", indicates that the project exists solely to help organise child projects and co-ordinate items of interest common to all sub-projects, and does not engage in other activity
  • assessment – The link to the project's assessment page
  • footnotes – Any additional free form notes about your project.
