[edit] Self Promotion
There are thousands of amateur skaters in North America. What makes this skater notable? Too many people seem to be using Wikipedia as a vehicle for self promotion. This poorly written article should be deleted. 70.49.163.133 08:25, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- You express a valid concern, about the number of potential articles on wikipedia if wikipedia includes sports stars and fictional names. I've noticed some articles for stars in the musical genre "hippity hop" that the young people like so much now-a-days, like Sir Mix-a-lot and 50 Cent, as well as articles about fictional people like Mr. Smithers. There are a number of articles about little known sports figures in sports of only regional interest like American Football.
- But in regards to your concern about "self-promotion," I have looked back through the history of this page and see no reason to believe that subject of this article created this page or has ever edited this page.
- As far as your concern about the quality of the writing of the article, the best response to that would be to spend a bit of time improving it. Michael J Swassing 17:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for responding, Michael. I guess my concern should have been "promotion" in general on Wiki, not self-promotion. I should mention that I don't know enough about this rollergirl to edit this article, though. I do still question it's notability, but will leave it for others to decide. The only other article on a rollergirl on Wiki is Jenny Rocket (which I also questioned in the same manner). Just wanted to share my view on the subject, without interfering with the article itself. 70.49.157.175 18:46, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

- Some of my comments above should be taken as somewhat tongue--in-cheek. Although I have added a few items to this article, I did not look at it carefully and in whole. It appears to include some combination of fact and fiction. There are other significant roller skaters who are more clearly notable, such as the woman who skates as "Tequila Mockingbird" for the Windy City Rollers. Notable because of the extensive, international news coverage of her injuries and private life as an attorney.

- Fisti Cuffs may be notable, maybe not so much. The article does need serious cleanup to sort out what is fact about the real person and what is a fictional account of her skating persona.Michael J Swassing 17:11, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

- I don't see anything about this article that seems to indicate it was written by the subject. Am I missing something? Fredsmith2 23:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion
I intend to nominate this article for deletion, unless someone can give me a reason why not. -b 03:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- One reason would be that you followed me here from the Arborist article where we had a disagreement. Please find your own interests.Michael J Swassing 03:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

- Sort of. I figured I'd just sort of see what type of edits YOU make, and it turns out you just argue. But I sort of agree this is a pointless, un-Wikipedia like article. That's all. -b 06:25, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

- Okay, I'm kind of being a bitch. I had to climb and prune a total of 13 trees of the Populus variety today. But I still agree this page is non-encyclopedian. -b 06:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

- I think you mean, "I still feel" rather than "I still agree." Technically, you need another person to have an agreement. It seems that you should have a reason to nominate this article for deletion, if you want to delete it, rather than just making a challenge for someone to give you a reason to not delete it. [edit] I stand by my original call of deletion
As of this date, there is still no sign of a TV movie as this article claims to be in progress. There is also no "line" of dolls made after her, but one made by a friend and fellow skater. I also say she is not notable, except for mentions on girl's amateur roller derby sites. This is a useless article that should not have been allowed to stand. 76.67.96.196 (talk) 15:33, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
