  • The term used to describe the clenched hand when the fingers are curled into the palm and the thumb is retracted. This is typically used in unarmed combat, such as fist-fighting. See also Punch (strike).

This entry isn't mentioned at all in the hand article. It's clearly correct, factually. Can this become it's own article or should it be removed as a dicdef. Wiktionary does a good job with it: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/fist Tedernst | talk 20:12, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

  • image needs to be replaced. its shows how to break your thumb when making a fist incorrectly. the thumb needs to be positioned at a 90 degree angle running parallel to your knuckles. extended at an odd angle as show will break your thumb in a fight.Palewook 15:00, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
