[edit] Crabbing

I grew up in Maryland in the US, a place famous for crabs. I was surprised to find that Wikipedia is lacking an article on crabbing. The word crabbing redirects to the crab disambiguation page, which isn't sufficient to my mind. I'm editing an article for Cheesequake State Park in New Jersey and will be adding an internal link to crabbing. Someone who knows the crabbing topic better than I might consider adding some detail to the stub I'll be soon posting. Also, the Pot disambiguation page has a dead link to Fishing pot, which is described as a pot for crabbing. I'm more familiar with a trap with collapsible sides that captures crabs by luring them with chicken fat attached to the center of the trap, which is raised periodically via a long chain or rope, often from a bridge or pier. A model for such an article is the lobster trap article. --Pat (talk) 03:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

There is a new article called Crab fisheries which needs more development, though you are right, there is nothing much so far on crabbing. --Geronimo20 (talk) 04:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
