[edit] It's First

I have warned the anon user who keeps changing FTPE to TPE. Btline (talk) 17:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I can understand the cause of the confusion, though — they seem to add or remove the ‘First’ from their name whenever they get a bit bored. David Arthur (talk) 15:07, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
In fact, the <title> of their home page seems to suggest they may even be called First TransPennine Trains! Divy (talk) 16:13, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Ok first of all hello everyone, i have decided to register on wikipedia since there have been suggestions that I am a bored user who edits the Transpennine express page for fun and that it is only keolis who call the company Transpennine express which is totally untrue. I have good reason to edit the page because the fact of the matter is that:

the company was set up as transpennine express ,their website is transpenninexpress.co.uk ,the department for transport call them transpennine express or (TPE) http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/rail/pi/wcml/wcms2008timetables/wcmstranspenninetimetable ,manchester Piccadilly screens call them Transpennine express ,Digital Doris at Manchester Piccadilly last time I heard called them Transpennine express and lastly they are joint venture between First and Keolis.

That is the fair point I am trying to make, i'm not trying to be a nuisance and i'm not trying to damage wikipedia as i use it a fair bit for my college work, However I feel that both names should be related to in the article and I think i'm making a valid point here.

Thanks everyone, take care p.s. i will be changing the tpe bracket reference slightly. User:Noddingdonkey142

Ok, here is a fact. Despite many name changes, the company is called First TPE. Fact. Keolis call it TPE, because they reject First throwing their name about. Anything else that calls them TPE is out of date or ignorant. the website is tpexpress dot com because they can't be bothered to change it (again), and maybe because Keolis objected.
But the fact is that it is First! look at the recent timetable booklets. Dynamic lines all over- it's First all right! Btline (talk) 18:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't see the need for anyone to get in a fluster here, im not trying to make a point nor am i trying to be difficult, all i am saying is i think that transpennine express should be a name variation mentioned, its no big deal

take care

It is. I added it in a while back. Regards, Btline (talk) 19:13, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

This needs to be sorted, what is it with all the names "also known as". It looks stupid and silly. The company name is First TransPennine Express regardless of what it has been in the past. I dont see what the problem about this is. Year1989 16:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree. The reason why I added "also known as.... etc." is because there was a user who would not take it that the name is FTPE! It was appeasement.

By all means change it - just watch out for said user! Btline (talk) 22:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
