[edit] Fire Sale as a Plot Device

The paragraph on Use as plot device should be expanded on, and maybe made into its own article. At the moment, it is poorly written. --HockeyInJune 02:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Expanded upon? How? It's a term made-up for one movie. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 12:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Remember though, wardialing is a "made-up" term. Last time I checked, it was used mainstream. Who is to say that Firesale will not be used as a technical term a year from now? --Apache Beard
The term "fire sale" was made up for one movie?!? Says who? It's been around for a long time, my friends... It is not rare. ask123 (talk) 20:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] article for deletion

This is a fictional plot device, that has no merit outside the film. There is a lame attempt to rationalize it in the article, with bares no grounds. Pointless artciels that will probably be continued upon with some more original research. I opt for deletion. --Procrastinating@talk2me 23:04, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. The term is in the public lexicon and is used more widely now. It is much encompassing that previous terms used such as "Cyber attacks" "Virtual Warfare" etc. (Bobbo9000 (talk) 08:40, 6 June 2008 (UTC))

What is with the deletionists? Lazy? Lacking common sense? Unwilling to investigate just a little further? I arrived on this page from a Wikipedia link. If you just delete these articles willy-nilly, as the deletionists have been wont to do, you end up with a lot of cross-links in Wikipedia itself that point to nothing. There's enough body of work in Wikipedia now, somebody should do a study of percentage of broken links in Wikipedia due to deletionist policy (of trying to delete anything they don't understand the importance of). 76.243.129.217 (talk) 19:38, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, I should vote - I disagree too! About deleting this article! It's an important cyber security term used by both black hats and white hats. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? the term or the movie? Who cares. This is a keeper... don't delete! 76.243.129.217 (talk) 19:55, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
