[edit] History
The Syracuse University branch of FYP, was started by Ed Golden, who was vice president for student affairs at Syracuse University, in 1992. Before arriving at Syracuse, Golden founded FYP at the University of Virginia, in 1981. [2]
[edit] Auditions
Auditions are held at the beginning of Spring semester and are open to all first year and transfer students who are not majoring in drama. The auditions require the preparation of a memorized 1 minute monologue and 32 bars of music. There is also a dance portion of the audition which consists of learning a show-related combination. Initial auditions are followed by callback auditions which require the preparation of a show-related scene, song, and dance combination. [3]
