First National Center (Oklahoma City)

The First National Center is a skyscraper in downtown Oklahoma City. It was constructed in 1931 and is 33 stories tall. The building is 446 feet (136 meters) tall at the roof, and is 493 feet (150 meters) tall at its spire. It is the second tallest building in Oklahoma City, after Chase Tower, and is the sixth tallest in the state of Oklahoma. The building has 990,000 square feet of office space, and has an approximately 40% occupancy rate. On June 22, 2006, the building experienced an electrical fire in its basement. The building was evacuated for the workday, and a section of Robinson Avenue adjacent to the building was temporarily closed. There were no long term effects from the fire.
