"First Date" is the second single from the pop punk trio Blink-182's album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. It was written by Tom DeLonge (guitar and vocals), on the same night that Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) wrote "The Rock Show". Both "First Date" and "The Rock Show" were written in response to producers' concerns that Take Off Your Pants and Jacket lacked catchy singles[citation needed].

The video, directed by The Malloys and released in 2001 is set in 1974 El Segundo, California, filmed, at least in part, in Burnaby, British Columbia, and features the band with long hair wearing clothes from that time. It has the band members parodying bands like the Bee Gees.
There are two versions of this music video, one long and one shortened. In the long version, at the start of the song before the band begin playing, Tom is telling Mark about how he ending up kissing his brother. To which Mark replys: "You know what they say: 'Like Father, Like Son'".
