Talk:Fiji Indian diaspora
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I believe that this article is not needed as much of its information is present in the Indians in Fiji article. The metioned article already has information about the Indo-Fijian diaspora around the world, even including the exact same table describing the number of Indo-Fijians in certain countries. Feel free to respond to my opinion. BenettonHuhera (talk) 08:05, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
This article is supposed be about Indians born and bred in Fiji who have left Fiji because of political unpheavels in Fiji. There are at present as many Fiji Indians and their off-spring in Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada as there are in Fiji. As the word "diaspora" suggests this article is about Fiji Indians anywhere in the world. The other article is about the Indians who are in Fiji and their History. - Ah I see. When you put it that way, it makes more sense. I guess I may have gotten confused with the fact that the Indian population in Fiji can also be considered a diaspora as well (in the case of NRIs and PIOs). Although I now understand what you are saying, there might be others that are not, so perhaps this article may need to be slighty expanded and hold more exclusive information for people to recognise this. Apart from that, thankyou for replying and yes, great job on the articles that you've contributed so far. BenettonHuhera (talk) 08:21, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
