FiGa Films, founded by Sandro Fiorin and Alex Garcia in 2006, is an art house film distribution company, based in Los Angeles, specializing in films from Latin America for selective North American audiences. It is considered “The Home of the New Latin Cinema”.[who?] FiGa has recently distributed acclaimed Brazilian film "Alice's House / A Casa de Alice" in the US and will be opening in Canada in May 2008. Next one comes from Argentina, "Proper Eyes / Por Sus Propios Ojos", to be distributed next Fall. FiGa is also a distributor of documentaries and short films, all with social relevance and meant to show a more positive and realistic side of Latin America. FiGa plans on releasing 4 to 6 films a year, and will start co producing as well as representing talent in 2009.
