The name comes from a comic in The Far Side by Gary Larson. In the comic, a young worker stands at the edge of a large vat (presumably stirring it) while an old codger snarls, "She's a fickle hellcat and her heart is full of lye."

Later, I would name my vehicle in high school The Fickle Hellcat and the name stuck. I've since used it as my user name throughout Webdom.
