Just a question... Is there such a thing as a non-fictional vampire hunter? CMacMillan 00:45, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, there were vampire hunting kits sold in Europe, and many small towns had folktales and superstitions about people rising from the dead and sucking blood during the night, since corpses appeared bloated as if they had just had a full meal, leading to a number of preventative measures to keep suspected vampires from waking from their grave. So as a reaction to superstition and fear, the practice of hunting and warding off vampires was quite real.
