[edit] Police Officers or Detective ?

Hello, it is not clear to me who is a "Police Officer" and who is a "Detective". For example, I expected Robert Goren (Law & Order) to be a Detective while he is listed here as a Police officer. I'm trying to add the Homicide characters in the good categories. Can someone make this clearer to me ? Thanks. Lvr 10:58, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
