Festy cock

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Festy cock in Scots is a ball of extra finely ground meal, wetted until it could be patted and rolled into a round shape, then roasted in the hot ashes from a mill kiln. Eaten as a substitute for the cockerel and eaten at Shrovetide.[1] The last day before Lent.
