Talk:Fernspähkompanie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Lehr" is only a part of the designation of the unit because it is based at the international reconnaissance school in Pfullendorf. According to common language use in militaries of other states, the correct designation is "Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol Company 200" or "Special Surveillance and Reconnaissance Company 200". To call it only a "patrol" is more than ever wrong since firstly LRRP is the 'job title' of the unit and additionally, except of squadrons with special tasks in Air Forces there aren't any military elements called a "patrol".
The right designation for German 'Truppengattung' is 'troops' but not 'forces'. For example: 'Army Signal Troops' but never 'Army Signal Forces' as well as the right translation for 'Heeresaufklärungstruppe' 'Army Reconnaissance Troops' is.
Maybe the respective elements could be arranged in another way for better visibility, but I don't think it will be necessary to change something else again.
