Ferry Fryston

Ferry Fryston is a suburb of the town of Castleford in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the borough of Wakefield.

It was home to a coal mine before closure which was affectionatly known locally as Fryston Pit. Most homes in the area were homes of local miners. Local authority housing was sold off and is now privately owned by [WDH - Wakefield District Housing http://www.wdh.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx]. According to the website UpMyStreet, the area is mainly inhabited by low income families.
