Fernet Stock 8000

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fernet Stock 8000 is a herbal distillate made in the largest Czech distillery Stock Plzeň Božkov. Its recipe has a similar base to the legendary Fernet Stock, but Fernet Stock 8000 is clear in colour.

[edit] Recipe and production

The recipe is based on a distillate of macerate made from 14 herbs, which are used also in the production of Fernet Stock. The herbs are macerated in spirit for several months, with the resulting macerate being then distilled by the pot-still method. The distillate is then blended, in an exactly defined relation, with another distillate made from alpine herbs, spirit, specially purified water and a small amount of sugar. An altogether specific procedure is the product's final ice-chilling and slow-filtration, used for enhancing its delicacy and purity. Fernet Stock 8000 contains 35 herbs in total, primarily the so-called functional herbs - anise, wormwood, juniper, cardamom and galangal.

[edit] New marketing techniques

The Fernet Stock 8000 brand has become one of the pioneers of unconventional marketing activities in the Czech Republic. When its unique recipe was launched onto the market, new marketing techniques, as well as new media, were used. It was Fernet Stock 8000 for which the concepts of brand ambassadors, word of mouth and viral marketing had been widely used for the first time in the Czech Republic.
