i changed the phrase "descriptive statistics" to simply "statistics". It should be noted that there is no reference after this sentence either, so it is an empty claim at the moment.

descriptive statistics refers specifically to the mean, range, variance, and so on. it doesnt mean that it is proven statistically. In that case you would need to say something like "blah blah blah was shown to be statistically significant."
