From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Federal Work-Study Program, often abbreviated FWS, is a program of the United States Department of Education, administered through the Office of Federal Student Aid that helps students finance post-secondary education though part-time employment.
By law, hourly wages for work-study students must not be less than the federal minimum wage.
The Federal Work-Study Program was created by the Higher Education Act of 1965. The relevant legislation is codified in Title 42, sections 2751–2756b of the United States Code.
