"only to lose his soul and his humanity" I cant help but read that and think there is a lot of POV problems with it. Firstly, "soul" doesn't really come into it, and secondly, thats only from a short term perspective. To put it correctly, his "deal with the devil" ended up granting him never ending life through the force, or something like that. I dont know enough about that to really comment though
