Fata Morgana is a musical side project of Mortiis. Much like his other work, the songs are composed using synthesizers; though these songs have a much more "jolly" feel to them, unlike his other works. With the release of the second album, there was a techno/futuristic sound to the songs.
"Fata Morgana is basically me wanting to express musical ideas through another medium - that had no real concept, that didn't deal with something special, or had any message within".[1]
