Faroese American

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Faroese Americans are Americans of Faroese descent. Most Faroese emigrated to countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom. However, Faroese Americans are most commonly found in Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Michigan, and Canada. They have retained their heritage and many continue to speak Faroese as a second language with their families at home.

However, getting a clear figure about how many Faroese Americans exist might prove to be difficult, if not impossible, since most Faroese immigrants immigrated via Iceland, Norway, Denmark or the UK, and thus might have been counted as belonging to one of these ethnicities or nationalities.
