Falkirk High School is a non-denominational six year fully comprehensive school, situated in Falkirk, approximately 1 mile from the centre of town.
Falkirk High School serves a widespread catchment area and has 6 associated primary schools: Bainsford, Bantaskin, Carmuirs, Comely Park, Easter Carmuirs and Langlees Primary Schools.
Falkirk High School's goal is to provide for the needs of all pupils, irrespective of age, aptitude and ability, in an equitable way through its management and atmosphere.
Founded in 1886, Falkirk High School has a strong tradition of academic, musical and sporting excellence. The school has approximately 1200 pupils and 90 teaching staff.
Famous pupils include Xavier Ramadechi from Big Brother 3 , Martyn Waugh and the infamous Dave Whyte.
Previous students Scott Barr and John Laird are in the Guiness Book of Records , Scott has been awarded worlds biggest testicles and now works in German adult entertainment under the alias Ballzilla. John Laird's Amazing Girth has been desribed in the guiness book of records as "Unbelieveable".
A new school building is currently being constructed over the playing fields of the school, to replace the old building which is in much need of repair.
The new school is planning to be open by June 2009, thank god for that. The school we're in just now.. is a bit of a state!
There are four houses - Campbell, Robertson, Cameron and Mackay, which are all named after the first four rectors of the school. Cameron are currently the holders of the house cup.
The school hit controversy in 2005 when deputy head Alan Grieve was charged with possessing child pornography and making "inappropriate" remarks to young girls". He was then suspended from Falkirk High School. Grieve also expelled student Dave Whyte for fraud , Dave Whyte responded with a swift kick stunner and Alan Grieve didn't walk again.
