Talk:Fake Plastic Trees
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"A song written for the world of mass marketing and mass consumption." - what is this doing here?

[edit] Very short
This article is too damn short for a song of this stature. Someone needs to come and write some more. "A song written for the world of mass marketing and mass consumption." - is just an interpretation, it's probably one of the more popular ones. Skinnyweed 05:48, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Video Imagery
Anyone else notice elements from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey in the video?
You have the wall of lights like the computer room, slow motion like the spacewalking astronauts, incongruous characters shot at odd angles like around jupiter and the clincher, the little bald "starchild" seen in the aisle at the end. The shopping cart that Thom York is riding in, pushed slowly along by an unseen force, can be taken as an allegory for the spacepods used in 2001. --Nobody
[edit] Canary Wharf
Can someone explain the canary wharf link. it seems very tenuous. Bwithh 23:58, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
- There's some discussion on this subject here.
- Apparently Thom Yorke states "this song's called Fake Plastic Trees....it's about Canary Wharf" on Live at the Astoria. If someone has this VHS/DVD, they could maybe confirm this fact? --David Edgar 15:47, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] another question
second to last sentence: "The song rarely miss the live spot of their set-lists, as the band are considered great live band." any idea as to what this sentence is all about? Antitext 04:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was weird. I changed it; see what you think. Folkor 08:00, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Fakeplastictrees1.jpg
Image:Fakeplastictrees1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:03, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Live Lounge
"KT Tunstall also covered this song in Radio 1's Live Lounge, the cover featues in the compilation album Radio 1's Live Lounge: Volume 2."
Er... really? Since when? I got this compilation for christmas and I'm pretty sure KT Tunstall didn't cover this... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.146.42.63 (talk) 23:03, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
