The Fairfield Theatre Company is a theatre located in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA.

Founded in 2000, Fairfield Theatre Company (FTC) is a not-for-profit organization designated under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In a 5 short years, FTC has become an integral contributor to the cultural fabric of Fairfield County.

After its inaugural season of three plays staged at Fairfield University's Quick Center in 2001, the Town of Fairfield's Board of Selectmen voted to lease part of the former Recreation Department building at 70 Sanford Street, in the heart of downtown Fairfield, to FTC for $1 per year. The company took occupancy September 1, 2002 and began a capital and membership campaign to fund the renovation of the facility into a viable theatre space. In July of 2003 Fairfield's Representative Town Meeting voted unanimously to expand the lease to the entire 20,000 sq. ft building with a thirty year option, for the creation of a multi-venue arts center. Construction was soon underway on Phase One of the plan, resulting in the creation of the 200 seat venue now known as StageOne.

Since opening StageOne in June of 2004, FTC has presented over 200 performances of eight theatrical plays, including critically acclaimed New York productions of The Moonlight Room, The Internationalist, Carnival Knowledge, A Rooster in the Henhouse, and Susannah York's The Loves of Shakespeare's Women, transferred directly from their original Off Broadway runs. The award-winning Irish Art's Center production of Howie the Rookie, and Tony nominee Jayne Atkinson's powerful portrayal of Eleanor of Aquitaine in Lionheart were highlights of the 2005 season. This past December saw the premier of a new comedy Intelejunt Dezyne: A Divine Comedy, by Obie winner E. Katherine Kerr, and starring veteran of stage and screen James Noble.

The theatre series has been augmented with numerous play readings, and workshops for children and adults. Each summer FTC has conducted its Summer Theatre Workshops teaching teamwork, acting, and improvisational skills to hundreds of area children.

FTC is also becoming known as a uniquely intimate venue for concert events. Starting in 2005 with family friendly Jazz and Chamber Music series, FTC has created a popular music series covering all genres, hosting local groups, and national acts such as Lesley Gore, Richie Havens, Josh Kelly, Pat Metheny, Dave Mason, The Subdudes, Marty Balin, and Roomful of Blues, to name a few. With over one hundred concert events to date FTC has created a great deal of excitement in downtown Fairfield.

Fairfield Theatre Company currently has over 1500 active members, and receives season support and sponsorships from Fairfield Motor Cars (Audi, Mercedes Benz and Porsche of Fairfield) and The Bender Financial Group,(Northwestern Mutual Financial Network). Efforts are currently underway to enlist new sponsors for the support of FTC's ever evolving programming.
