The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is a newspaper that serves the city of Fairbanks, Alaska and Fairbanks North Star Borough. Residents occasionally refer to it jokingly as the Daily News-Minus.

The first publisher/editor was William Fentress Thompson, known as W.F. Thompson or "Wrong Font" Thompson. The paper, founded in 1903 (or perhaps 1905, depending on the title from which dating begins), was known by various names and was produced, at different times, as either a daily or weekly. One of the modern paper's antecedents was the Fairbanks News; then, after the purchase of the Tanana Miner (a small paper in the nearby town of Chena), it became the Fairbanks News-Miner, and then finally became known in 1909 by its current title. Thompson was a colorful character, and famous for his boosterism of northern agriculture and Fairbanks in general.

Austin E. "Cap" Lathrop purchased the paper in 1929.

Charles Willis "Bill" Snedden purchased the paper in 1950, operating it until his death in 1989.

Media News Group purchased the paper in 1992 and continues to operate it. Marilyn Romano is the current publisher.
