Why is georgeorwell.de a "spam link"? It probably shouldn't be listed on the English wikipedia article on George Orwell anyway -- it should be on the German one -- but why call it spam? It seems a perfectley reasonable site at a glance. -- Sam

Shouldn't external links be judged on their own merit, though? If the content of those pages was poor, then fair enough; but I think we'll need to judge on the basis of whether the link is useful rather than whether or not someone is making money out of it. --Sam
Okay, that's a point. Luck that you picked one of the pages that seems to be useful. Others like strat-games-chronics.com are just crap. I think en: as a link policy similar to Only add external links, if they provide additional informations. And i could further argue that because georgeorwell.de has no infos which are not covered by George Orwell, it was okay to remove the link. (Well, i have to admit that i haven't read the article, yet ;-) Btw, how did you found the domain list? I thought noone even noticed it... Regards -- fab 11:27, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)
I only noticed when you removed the georgeorwell.de link from George Orwell -- it's on my watchlist. That should have been removed anyway since it's in German: it should be on the de: page if it's useful to that article. The de facto policy does seem to be only add useful external links, that just seems sensible. Wikipedia is not an internet directory! --Sam
Of course, it is not. Okay, next time i will have i closer look to the websites i remove and i will try to determine if it's useful or not. I promise :-p -- fab 12:09, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)
