Description

A Vought F-8E Crusader (BuNo. 150912) from Marine fighter squadron VMF(AW)-212 Lancers in 1965. The aircraft is armed with an AIM-9D Sidewinder missile. VMF(AW)-212 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing Sixteen (CVW-16) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) for a deployment to Vietnam. VMF(AW)-212 kept its tail code "WD", although CVW-16´s aircraft carried the tail code "AH".
