Date: 31 March 2006. English Grammar in second half of entry improved and use of tense made consistent. To judge from the type of inconsistencies in the english, the entry was probably originally written in german. A link to the novel "Arrowsmith" by Sinclair Lewis, which was based on d´Herelle´s and his use of bacteriophage to treat epidemic disease has been added. - psymm
