[edit] pronounciation
can somebody add a definitive pronunciation to this? thanks SPC Knappenberger, E.M. 05:37, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ecosophy
There is almost nothing about his ecosophy, and the ecosophy article also says little. Is there at least a good reference or link? --Singkong2005 01:43, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
His ecosophy is, AFAIK, mostly contained within his 1989 "les Trois Ecologies" (in english as "The Three Ecologies", Athlone Press, 2000). I'm not sure he should be credited as an originator of ecosophy given that the term was coined by Arne Naess and that Guattari bases his ecosophy on Gregory Bateson's work (amongst other influences) which is radically different from the Deep Ecology perspective of Naess. [edit] Gobbledegook
This article is just about as bad as some of the writings of the man himself. "It may be said that his writings were at all times correspondent in one fashion or another with sociopolitical and cultural engagements." This conveys absolutely nothing to me, unless it is something like "his writings reflect the times". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Skookumpete (talk • contribs) 13:24, September 5, 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Who the heck is Brian Massumi?
This influence, i belive, must be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.16.181.66 (talk) 21:41, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] More Gobbledegook
You thought that was gobbledegook, try this from the man himself... "We can clearly see that there is no bi-univocal correspondence between linear signifying links or archi-writing, depending on the author, and this multireferential, multi-dimensional machinic catalysis. The symmetry of scale, the transversality, the pathic non-discursive character of their expansion: all these dimensions remove us from the logic of the excluded middle and reinforce us in our dismissal of the ontological binarism we criticised previously."
THAT'S WHAT I CALL GOBBLEDEGOOK
For more of the same see Alan Sokal and Jean Bricmont's book "Intellectual Impostures", I highly recomend it.

- As STM makes clear, people should approach this article with caution as it gives no heed to the considerable criticisms leveled at Mr. Guattari by scientists and others. --Edwin Herdman (talk) 07:34, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- If you refer to criticisms from people who have actually read and engaged Guattari's work (unlike Sokal and Bricmont, for example), please cite them from reliable sources so we can put them in the article. csloat (talk) 15:40, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- In what sense do you consider the book "Intellectual Impostures" to not be a reliable source? Claiming that they haven't "actually" read Guattari's work is a completely unsupported assertion. Perhaps you haven't "actually" read "Intellectual Impostures"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.179.151.39 (talk) 22:18, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Category French Anarchist
Was Guattari committed with some openly anarchist movement? Did he describe himself as an anarchist? So why do we categorize him as an "anarchist"? 82.51.31.104 (talk) 22:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
