[edit] EyeBot

EyeBot is a bot designed to "see" images that aren't bit-for-bit. It helps to identify redundant images, copyright issues, and vandal images.

[edit] What it does

Note: This section does not reflect the bot's current duties-- it's merely here as a rough overview.
  • EyeBot is a Recent Changes patrolling bot that looks for changes to the Image: namespace.
  • EyeBot tries to determine, based on where the image is linked, and more importantly, whether the image looks like another image.
  • If it finds significant similarity, depending on the situation, it will take appropriate action.
For example, potential copyright issues found by image search will be tagged as such.
Reuploads of images for deletion images within a small timeframe will be tagged as well.
  • It runs continuously (except, obviously, for maintenance).

[edit] Status

  • The bot is under heavy development and is not currently ready for mainspace edits.
  • Awaiting approval for userspace edits.
