Extenda Communications was one of the first independent telephone equipment suppliers in California. Founded in 1970 by Cyril and Sheldon Schmidt, Extenda was among the companies to benefit from the Reagan-era opening up of the telecommunications industry and the break up of the national telephone monopoly. Extenda is today one of the oldest independent equipment resellers ("interconnect company") in the state of California.
