Express is a free, widely circulated daily newspaper in the Washington, D.C., metro area. It is in the tabloid format and is printed every weekday and distributed at Metro Stations and throughout the District. It is owned and printed by the Washington Post Company, but few of the stories are written by Washington Post staff. Many stories and pictures come from the Associated Press. The newspaper is financed solely by advertising. Express debuted August 5, 2003.
