Exogamous group

Exogamous group is a section of society within which marriages are prohibited. A marriage within an exogamous group is regarded as incestuous.
Examples of exogamous groups are:
- Gotras and Clans in the castes in India.
- "Fis" among the Albanians
- Individuals with the same last name in China, or Chinese surname, Chinese clan
