[edit] Joseph

Greetings! Somehow, you've stumbled onto this page...somehow...

My name is Joseph, but I also go by Joe or Joe Vu. I'm currently a Year 12 student studying for the Victorian Certificate of Education at Melbourne High School. I have a strange set of subjects, say many people at school - English, Mathematical Methods, Music: Group Performance, Music: Solo Performance and Information Processing and Management.

I'm just a strange person. Leave me alone!

[edit] Joseph the Student

I started my primary education at St. Anthony's Parish School Noble Park in 1994 and graduated in 2000 (which happened to be the Jubilee year. In my final year at primary school, I sat an entrance examination to the accelerated learning programme offered at Dandenong High School and was offered a place in the class. I also received a scholarship for placing in the top 4. I remained at Dandenong High until the end of Year 8. I sat the entrance examination to Melbourne High School during Year 8 and was subsequently accepted into the school.

I graduated from Melbourne High School in 2006 and currently I am studying the Bachelor of Business Information Systems (IBL stream) at Monash University.

[edit] Joseph the Musician

I was first introduced to music at primary school, when a group called the Primary Music Institute came around and offered keyboard lessons to students at my primary school. I screwed up my first performance. Leaves a good path for the rest of my music 'career'. I was then introduced to singing in Year 3, when I joined a local community choir for children called the National Children's Choir of Australia. I remained in this choir until the end of Year 6. After leaving the choir, I took up piano lessons and have attained Grade 5 AMEB in piano. Since then, I've grown to dislike the organisation and have ceased examinations with them for the time being, due to my belief that music should be much broader than what the AMEB promotes.

I'm currently studying two music subjects: Group and Solo Performance. I am singing for both these subjects, although I will be playing piano for a number in the Group Performance programme. In addition to voice and piano, I also play tenor saxophone, recorder and the bagpipes.

If you don't already think I'm strange, you should now.

Currently, I'm in the cast of the Monash Uni Musical Company's production of Urinetown. Show dates are August 17-19 and 22-25. Contact me if you want tickets! I'm also working on few compositional projects, in whatever (little) spare time I get.
